Kansas City Royals at Cleveland Indians
|Date & Time||Saturday July 20, 2019, 7:10 PM (EDT)|
Cleveland Indians -160 / Kansas City Royals +150 O/U: 10.5
The Kansas City Royals and the Cleveland Indians will match up on the MLB circuit on Saturday.
In the Friday opener of this set, the Indians logged four runs in the third inning and rode that wave to an eventual 10-5 win.
For Saturday’s game, the Royals will be sending out Jakob Junis in the start. Over his 113.1 innings and 5-8 mark so far, Junis has a 5.08 ERA with 108 Ks and 40 BBs.
KC put up nine hits on Friday. Two of those belonged to Whit Merrifield, who slapped a double and a triple, posting three RBI and a run on the night.
Over on the Cleveland side, they’re going with Adam Plutko in the start Saturday. Across 41.2 innings and a 3-1 record, Plutko has a 5.40 ERA with 27 Ks and five walks.
The Indians had 16 hits as a team on Friday. Oscar Mercado led the way on a 5-for-5 line, two runs and two RBI.
The Royals are 1-10 in their last 11 Saturday games and 5-12 in Junis’ last 17 road starts. KC is 1-4 in Junis’ last five starts and 1-5 in his last six in game two of a series.
Meanwhile, the Indians are 5-2 in their last seven Saturday games and 5-0 in Plutko’s last five starts. Cleveland is 1-4 in Plutko’s last five starts in game two of a series and 5-1 in his last six home starts.
Junis has consecutive quality starts to his credit, with three earned in 14.0 innings during that span. Thing is, the last time Junis faced the Indians (July 2), he coughed up six earned in 4.2 innings during a loss.
Plutko fared better in his June 24 game versus KC with one earned on a solo homer, but only stayed out there for 4.0 innings. He’s given up 10 earned over two appearances since then.
I think Junis gets some revenge here and puts the Royals in position to win.
