Cleveland Indians -165 / Miami Marlins +152 O/U: 8.5
The Miami Marlins and the Cleveland Indians will meet up to finish their two-game MLB set on Wednesday.
In the Tuesday opener of this set, Miami held the Indians to just three hits on the night, scoring three runs in the fifth on the way to a 3-1 win.
For Wednesday’s game, the Marlins will be sending out RHP Sandy Alcantara. Over his 23.0 innings and 1-2 record this year, Alcantara has a 5.09 ERA with 19 Ks and eight walks.
Miami had a few good performances in Tuesday’s win, with Curtis Granderson logging a hit and an RBI. Starlin Castro added two hits for the Marlins and Jorge Alfaro put up a solo homer.
Over on the Indians’ side, they will be going with Jefry Rodriguez in the start Wednesday. Rodriguez will be recalled from Triple-A to help fill out the rotation following Friday’s rainout.
Cleveland couldn't get a whole lot going on Tuesday with just the three hits. Carlos Gonzalez managed one hits and a run for the Indians, while Tyler Naquin put up a hit and an RBI.
The Marlins are 4-11 in their last 15 in game two of a series and 0-5 in their last five Wednesday games. Miami is 2-6 in Alcantara’s last eight starts and 2-6 in his last eight starts on grass.
Meanwhile, the Indians are 26-9 in their last 35 Wednesday games and the under is 4-1 in their last five in game two of a series. The under is 34-15-2 in Cleveland’s last 51 Wednesday games.
After a couple of good starts to begin the year (two earned; 12.0 innings combined), Alcantara has skidded one his last pair of outings with 11 earned in 11.0 innings on 18 hits for an 0-2 result.
Realistically I’m not so sure Alcantara can get it going again here, so I’m going Indians for the game two victory.
