MLB | Milwaukee Brewers (37-23) at Cleveland Indians (30-28)
Benny Sieu-USA TODAY Sports

On Tuesday evening from Progressive Field, the Milwaukee Brewers and the Cleveland Indians will be meeting up to begin their MLB series.

The Brewers are coming off a weekend set versus the White Sox. Milwaukee won on Saturday but dropped the other two games to lose the series.

For Tuesday’s game, the Brewers are going with Junior Guerra in the start. Over 54.1 innings and a 3-3 record this year, Guerra has a 2.65 ERA with 51 Ks and 20 BBs.

Heading up the Brewers’ offense is Lorenzo Cain, with 56 hits, 36 runs, 11 doubles and 17 RBI. Christian Yelich also has 56 hits and 36 runs, with 26 RBI and seven homers as well.

Over on the Indians’ side, they’re fresh off a series versus the Twins. Cleveland managed a win on Thursday but lost the other three games.

Cleveland will be going with RHP Corey Kluber on Tuesday. In his 84.2 innings and 8-2 record this year, Kluber has a 2.02 ERA with 88 Ks and 10 BBs.

Tops in hitting for the Indians is Francisco Lindor with 73 hits, 45 runs, 14 homers and 35 RBI. Jose Ramirez is second on the team with 66 hits, 42 runs, 18 homers and 41 RBI.

The Brewers are 6-2 in the last eight during game one of a series and 9-3 in their last 12 Tuesday games. Milwaukee is also 12-5 in their last 17 overall and 11-5 in their last 16 road games.

Meanwhile, the Indians are 4-1 in the last five versus the NL Central and 37-15 in their last 52 home games. Cleveland is also 4-10 in their last 14 in game one of a series and 58-28 in Kluber’s last 86 home starts.

Guerra has been pretty good over his last four appearances, with three quality starts and a total of five earned combined in all. As for Kluber, he’s been on quite a roll lately, and hasn’t given up a run in his last two starts—a span of 12.1 innings. This should be a decent pitching matchup, but I have to give Kluber and the Indians the edge here.
