MLB | Minnesota Twins (51-58) at Cleveland Indians (60-49)
Brad Rempel-USA TODAY Sports

Over at Progressive Field on Monday, the Minnesota Twins and the Cleveland Indians will be meeting up on the MLB diamond.

The Twins are coming off a set against the Royals this weekend. After winning the first pair of games 6-4 and 8-2, on Sunday Minnesota did it again 6-5.

Kyle Gibson will be making the start Monday for the Twins. Across his 135.0 innings and 5-8 mark this year, Gibson has a 3.47 ERA with 132 Ks and 53 BBs.

The hits leader for the Twins this year is Eddie Rosario, who entered the week on 131 hits, 72 runs, 20 homers and 66 RBI. On Sunday, Rosario was 0-for-4.

Over on the Indians’ side, they just finished up against the Angels. Cleveland lost the first game of that set but came back to take the other two.

Cleveland will be sending out RHP Trevor Bauer on Sunday. In his 153.2 innings and 10-6 record this year, Bauer has a 2.34 ERA with 195 Ks and 53 BBs.

In Sunday’s game, the Indians scored three runs in the first inning, courtesy of Jose Ramirez’s homer. Francisco Lindor was the only Indian to finish with more than one hit, though. (He had two.)

The Twins are 4-0 in their last four in game one of a series and 5-1 in their last six Monday games. Minnesota is also 1-6 in Gibson’s last seven Monday starts and 10-3 in his last 13 starts in game one of a series.

Meanwhile, the Indians are 2-5 in their last seven during game one of a series and 1-4 in their last five Monday games. Cleveland is 4-0 in Bauer’s last four starts versus the AL Central and 4-0 in his last four starts.

These two teams just played about a week ago in Minnesota, and Cleveland won two of the three games. The one game the Twins took was a one-run victory. Even though Gibson has a few good starts lately, I can’t help but take Bauer and the Indians here.

Pick:
Cleveland Indians -220
