The Minnesota Twins and the Cleveland Indians meet in the finale of their three game AL Central division set from Progressive Field in MLB action on Sunday.

The Minnesota Twins will look to complete the sweep after taking both legs of Saturday’s doubleheader, with a 2-0 win in game one followed by a 9-5 triumph in game two. Game one saw Jorge Polanco account for both Minnesota RBIs with a home run while Max Kepler and Luis Arraez each had two hits with a double. Game two saw Miguel Sano have a home run and four RBIs while Nelson Cruz and Eddie Rosario each had a home run and two RBIs and Polanco went 3 for 5 with a double and an RBI to cap off Minny’s scoring in the win. Zack Littell picked up the win in game one to improve to 5-0 on the year while Taylor Rogers closed out the 9th for his 26th save. Brusdar Graterol got the win in relief in game two to improve to 1-0 on the year. Randy Dobnak will start the finale and is 0-1 with a 2.25 ERA and 10 strikeouts this season. This will eb Dobnak’s second career start against Cleveland.

The Cleveland Indians will look to bounce back and salvage a win after losing both games on Saturday. Oscar Mercado and Roberto Perez each went 2 for 3 and Yasiel Puig added a base hit in game one as the Tribe had just five hits with none of them going for extra bases. Game two saw Mercado and Jordan Luplow each have two RBIs with Mercado going 3 for 5 with a double as well. Carlos Santana added an RBI to cap off Cleveland’s scoring in the game two defeat. Mike Clevinger took the loss in game one, falling to 11-3 after allowing both runs on six hits while striking out ten over eight innings of work. Oliver Perez ended up with the L in game two, falling to 2-3 on the year. Shane Bieber will start the finale and is 14-7 with a 3.17 ERA and 241 strikeouts this season. In his career, Bieber is 3-0 with a 3.83 ERA and 49 strikeouts against Minnesota.

Minnesota is 50-23 in their last 73 division games and 14-6 in their last 20 games overall while the under is 5-1 in their last 6 road games. Cleveland is 4-1 in Bieber’s last 5 division starts and 1-4 in their last 5 home games while the under is 8-1 in their last 9 games overall. Cleveland is 5-1 in Bieber’s last 6 starts against Minnesota.

I think the Indians are starting to come to grips with the fact that the Twins are going to wrap up the AL Central in the coming days, but the fact is that the Indians are still on the outside looking in in the wild card race, and a pair of losses in Saturday’s doubleheader could’ve been the worst thing that could’ve happened. Luckily, Bieber has had success against the Twins in his career, and Dobnak isn’t the pitcher I’m looking to get behind, even if the Twins are playing better baseball lately. We’re getting the much more desperate team at a reasonable price, so I’ll lay the juice with Cleveland here.
