Texas Rangers at Cleveland Indians
|Date & Time||Wednesday August 7, 2019, 4:35 PM (EDT)|
Cleveland Indians -185 / Texas Rangers +160 O/U: 8.5
The Texas Rangers and the Cleveland Indians will finish up their MLB series on Wednesday with game two of a doubleheader.
In the Monday opener, the Rangers eked out a 1-0 win. On Tuesday, we had a rainout, and that one will be made up at 12:10 PM Wednesday.
For Wednesday’s game, the Rangers will send out Lance Lynn in the start. This year over 148.0 innings and a 14-6 record, Lynn has a 3.71 ERA with 170 Ks and 35 BBs.
Over on the Indians’ side, this will probably be a bullpen game for them, depending on what happens in the first installment.
The Rangers are 2-5 in their last seven Wednesday games and 1-4 in their last five in game three of a series. Texas is 7-2 in Lynn’s last nine starts and 5-2 in Lynn’s last seven starts in game three of a series.
Meanwhile, the Indians are 37-14 in their last 51 Wednesday games and 61-28 in their last 89 in game three of a series. Cleveland is 4-0 in Clevinger’s last four Wednesday starts and 10-2 in his last 12 home starts.
Lynn has consecutive quality starts under his belt, with 13.0 innings, eight hits and two earned with 18 strikeouts combined in those—winning both for a 7-2 record his last nine games.
As for Clevinger, he’s got four straight wins, four straight quality starts and six earned combined in those games. This should be a pretty great pitching matchup, but I’m going with Cleveland to eke one out.
