The Line: Colorado Rockies -119 / Arizona Diamondbacks +109 --- Over/Under: 12
Coming up Sunday from Coors Field, the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Colorado Rockies will be finishing up their MLB set.
In the Friday opener, the Diamondbacks put up a 9-4 win. On Saturday, Arizona slammed out six runs in the eighth inning to cap a 12-7 victory.
For Sunday’s game, the Diamondbacks will be bringing out Zack Godley in the start. Over his 65.0 innings and 5-5 record this year, Godley has a 5.12 ERA with 62 Ks and 33 BBs.
Leading the way for the Diamondbacks in hitting entering the weekend was David Peralta with 58 hits, 27 runs, 11 homers and 28 RBI. On Saturday, Peralta went 4-for-5 with three RBI and a run.
Over on the Rockies’ side, they’re going with Kyle Freeland on Sunday. Freeland has a 3.48 ERA with 62 Ks and 22 BBs in his 72.1 innings and 6-5 record.
Tops in hitting for the Rockies this season is Nolan Arenado with 71 hits, 39 runs, 12 homers and 36 RBI entering the weekend. In game two, Arenado went 0-for-4.
The Diamondbacks are 1-7 in their last eight during game three of a series and 4-1 in Godley’s last five starts with five days’ rest. Arizona is also 1-4 in Godley’s last five starts and 1-5 in his last six Sunday starts.
Meanwhile, the Rockies are 2-5 in their last seven Sunday games and 1-5 in their last six during game three of a series. Colorado is also 5-1 in Freeland’s last six starts and 2-5 in his last seven starts with four days’ rest.
Godley has one good start (two earned in 6.0 innings) sandwiched between two bad starts (a combined 13 earned in 6.2 innings) in his recent activity. As for Freeland, he’s got seven quality starts in his last eight outings, and has given up three earned in each of his last three starts. This game could be a high-scoring affair, but I’m giving the Rockies the edge.
