The Line: Colorado Rockies +109 / Arizona Diamondbacks -119 --- Over/Under: 10
The Arizona Diamondbacks will meet the Colorado Rockies in the rare air of Coors Field on Tuesday as the teams continue their MLB series.
In the Monday opener, the Rockies slammed six runs in the fifth and seven in the seventh for a 13-2 win.
For Tuesday’s game, the Diamondbacks will be sending out Zack Greinke. In his 181.1 innings and 13-9 record this year, Greinke has a 3.08 ERA with 180 Ks and 37 BBs.
Paul Goldschmidt leads the way for the Arizona offense, entering this series on 159 hits, 90 runs, 33 homers and 82 RBI. In the opener, Goldschmidt posted a hit and an RBI.
As for the Rockies, they’re going with Antonio Senzatela on Tuesday. Across 67.2 innings and a 4-5 mark this year, Senzatela has a 4.92 ERA with 52 Ks and 23 BBs.
Trevor Story is the top Rockies hitter this year, coming into this set on 159 hits, 77 runs, 31 homers and 96 RBI. On Monday, Story ripped a three-run homer.
The Diamondbacks are 20-9 in their last 29 in game two of a series and 35-17 in their last 52 Tuesday games. Arizona is 7-2 in Greinke’s last nine road starts and 2-5 in his last seven starts.
Meanwhile, the Rockies are 16-5 in their last 21 in game two of a series and 5-0 in Senzatela’s last five Tuesday starts. Colorado is 9-3 in Senzatela’s last 12 home starts and 1-4 in his last five starts with five days’ rest.
After a string of three straight quality starts, Greinke put up four earned on six hits in 5.1 innings against the Braves his last time up for a no-decision. As for Senzatela, he coughed up seven earned against St. Louis but since has given up four earned in 11.0 innings over two starts. All things considered, I think Greinke can get it here so I’m going Diamondbacks.
