The Line: Colorado Rockies -160 / Cincinnati Reds +150 --- Over/Under: 12
Up at Coors Field on Sunday, the Cincinnati Reds and the Colorado Rockies will be finishing up their weekend MLB series.
The Rockies took game one of this set 5-4 on Friday. In the Saturday game, the Reds eked out a 6-5 win.
For Sunday’s matchup, the Rockies will be rolling out German Marquez in the start. In his 50.2 innings and 3-5 record this year, Marquez has a 4.62 ERA with 48 Ks and 22 BBs.
Leading the way for the Rockies at the plate is Nolan Arenado, with 54 hits, 26 runs and 27 RBI coming into the weekend. On Saturday, Arenado had a hit and a run.
Over on the Reds’ side, they’re going with Matt Harvey in the Sunday game. In his 41.0 innings and 1-2 record this year, Harvey has a 5.49 ERA with 32 Ks and 11 BBs.
Tops in hitting for the Reds is Scooter Gennett, who entered the weekend with 60 hits, 26 runs, nine homers and 35 RBI. On Saturday, Gennett had a great day with five hits and a homer.
The Reds are 4-1 in their last five during game three of a series and 28-58 in their last 86 Sunday games. The over is 4-1 in the Reds’ last five Sunday games and they’re 8-3 in their last 11 versus the NL West.
Meanwhile, the Rockies are 1-4 in their last five Sunday games and 2-6 in Marquez’s last eight starts with five days’ rest. Colorado is also 1-4 in Marquez’s last five Sunday starts and 1-5 in his last six starts.
After a rough outing versus the Brewers, Marquez has calmed down in his last two starts with three earned in 12.0 innings on eight hits. As for Harvey, he’s given up four earned over 14.0 innings in his last three starts. I like Marquez to keep it going here and help guide the Rockies to a victory.
