Los Angeles Dodgers (29-20) at Colorado Rockies (22-26)
|Date & Time||Tuesday June 2, 2015, 8:40 PM (EDT)|
The Line: Colorado Rockies / Los Angeles Dodgers --- Over/Under:
The Los Angeles Dodgers battle the Colorado Rockies in game two of their doubleheader at Coors Field.
The Los Angeles Dodgers are shooting for their second consecutive National League Central crown and so far they are holding on to first. However San Francisco isn’t going to make things easy and injuries to a few key players makes things even more difficult. The Dodgers do lean on their pitching to maximize their success and so far things have been okay. A boost at the plate would be a welcome sight but the reality is the offense needs more production and give their arms more wiggle room.The Dodgers turn to Zack Greinke in the night cap of their twin bill with Colorado Tuesday. On a Los Angeles rotation that include defending Cy Young winner Clayton Kershaw, Greinke has been the best hurler with a 5-1 record with a 1.87 ERA.
The Colorado Rockies were solid to begin 2014 before fading and this season the team has started slow but have begun to play well. The question is can the Rockies play well long term and can their best players avoid injury with Troy Tulowitzki seemingly a guarantee to visit the disabled list. We know the offense is generally productive but the key will be whether the rotation will consistently keep the scoreboard manageable and take some pressure of the bats. Colorado gives the ball to David Hale for his second appearance of 2015 when he takes on the Dodgers. Hale gave up three runs (two earned) on eight hits over 6.2 innings of a 5-3 win versus San Francisco.
The over is 6-2 in LA last 8 Tuesday games and the Dodgers are 35-17 in their last 52 Tuesday games and are 8-1 in Greinke’s last 9 Tuesday starts. The over is 7-2 in Colorado’s last 9 vs. National League West and are 4-9 in their last 13 home games. The over is 12-3 in the last 15 meetings and Los Angeles are 20-7 in the last 27 meetings. No line out but if Grienke is going I’ll back him…
