|Date & Time||Friday May 11, 2018, 8:40 PM (EDT)|
The Line: Colorado Rockies -155 / Milwaukee Brewers +135 --- Over/Under: 11.5
Up at Coors Field on Friday, the Milwaukee Brewers and the Colorado Rockies will be continuing their MLB series.
In the Thursday opener, the Brewers scored three runs in the fifth inning on the way to a 5-2 win.
For Friday’s game, the Brewers will be bringing out Brandon Woodruff. In his 9.1 innings and 1-0 record this season, Woodruff has a 3.86 ERA with 10 Ks.
Coming into this set, Lorenzo Cain led the Brewers with his 34 hits, 20 runs, four homers and 10 RBI. On Thursday, Cain hit a homer and had two RBI.
Over on the Rockies’ side, they’re going with RHP Chad Bettis in the start Friday. Over his 44.0 innings and 4-1 record this year, Bettis has a 2.05 ERA with 27 Ks and 14 BBs.
The Rockies’ top hitter entering this series was Nolan Arenado with 37 hits, 19 runs, eight homers and 21 RBI. In the opener, Arenado went 0-for-2.
The Brewers are 9-3 in their last 12 in game two of a series and the under is 6-1-1 in their last eight during game two of a series. Milwaukee is also 6-0 in their last six versus the NL West and 7-1 in the last eight road games versus a team with a losing home record.
Meanwhile, the Rockies are 6-2 in their last eight in game two of a series and 7-3 in their last 10 Friday games. Colorado is also 7-2 in Bettis’ last nine Friday starts and 6-2 in his last eight starts.
Bettis has been very solid overall this season, and he’s given up just two earned over his last two starts on 10 hits and 14.0 innings. Bettis has surrendered more than two earned in a start just once this year—four in 5.0 innings versus the Padres last month. With Bettis on the hill, I have to go Rockies here.
