The Line: Colorado Rockies -122 / Pittsburgh Pirates +112 --- Over/Under: 11
Coming up Wednesday from Coors Field, the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Colorado Rockies will be finishing up their MLB set.
In the Monday opener, the Rockies secured a 2-0 win. On Tuesday, the Pirates struck back with a 10-2 victory.
For the Wednesday game, the Pirates will be sending out RHP Chris Archer. In his 100.1 innings and 3-5 mark this year, Archer has a 4.40 ERA with 108 Ks and 35 BBs.
Tops in hitting for the Pirates this year is Corey Dickerson, who came into game two on 111 hits, 50 runs, 11 homers and 44 RBI. On Tuesday, Dickerson had a hit and a run.
Over on the Rockies’ side, they’re going with German Marquez on Wednesday. Across 122.2 innings and a 9-8 record this year, Marquez has a 4.70 ERA with 129 Ks and 43 BBs.
Nolan Arenado had the hits lead for the Rockies entering game two, with 124 hits, 75 runs, 29 homers and 81 RBI. On Tuesday, Arenado had one hit.
The Pirates are 8-3 in their last 11 Wednesday games and 5-2 in their last seven in game three of a series. The under is 6-1 in Pittsburgh’s last seven in game three of a series and the over is 5-2 in their last seven Wednesday games.
Meanwhile, the Rockies are 5-1 in Marquez’s last six starts and 5-1 in his last six Wednesday starts. Colorado is 6-2 in their last eight Wednesday games and 8-3 in Marquez’s last 11 starts versus the NL Central.
This will be Archer’s second start with the Pirates. In his debut, he logged 4.1 innings with three earned on seven hits—not exactly a great start. As for Marquez, he’s got five quality starts in his last six outings and is pitching pretty well right now. I’m going Rockies here.
