Up at Coors Field on Wednesday, the San Diego Padres and the Colorado Rockies will be matching up to complete their MLB series.

In the Monday opener, the Padres eked out a 7-6 victory. On Tuesday, San Diego kept it going with a 5-2 win.

For the Wednesday game, the Padres will be bringing out RHP Luis Perdomo for the start. In his 9.0 innings and 1-1 record this year, Perdomo has a 6.00 ERA with 11 Ks and seven BBs.

The Padres’ leading hitters coming out of the Monday game were Jose Pirela, Eric Hosmer and Freddy Galvis, each with 13 hits. On Tuesday, Pirela, Hosmer and Galvis combined for six hits, two runs and an RBI.

Over on the Rockies’ side, they’re going with German Marquez on Wednesday. In his 9.2 innings and 0-1 record this season, Marquez has a 6.52 ERA with six Ks and 10 walks.

Heading up the Rockies’ offense coming into Tuesday was DJ LeMahieu, with 13 hits, two homers, four RBI and five runs. On Tuesday, LeMahieu went 0-for-4.

The Padres are 0-5 in their last five Wednesday games and 4-10 in Perdomo’s last 14 road starts. San Diego is also 2-5 in Perdomo’s last seven starts and 1-6 in his last seven starts in game three of a series.

Meanwhile, the Rockies are 2-6 in their last eight Wednesday games and 9-3 in Marquez’s last 12 home starts. Colorado is also 11-5 in Marquez’s last 16 starts with four days’ rest and the over is 4-1-1 in their last six Wednesday games.

Both of these pitchers have had mixed results so far, so it’s hard to predict what we’ll be getting in that regard. That said, I like Marquez to bounce back from a rough outing here and pitch fairly well. I’m going to go with the Rockies.
