MLB | San Francisco Giants (68-69) at Colorado Rockies (73-62)
Russell Lansford-USA TODAY Sports

The San Francisco Giants and the Colorado Rockies will match up in MLB activity on Monday from Coors Field.

The Giants just finished up a set against the Mets. After splitting the first two games, on Sunday San Fran fell 4-1.

For the Monday game, the Giants will be going with LHP Madison Bumgarner. In his 100.2 innings and 5-5 mark this year, Bumgarner has a 2.68 ERA with 86 Ks and 38 BBs.

Tops in hitting for the Giants this year is Brandon Crawford, who entered the week on 120 hits, 55 runs, 12 homers and 49 RBI. On Sunday, Crawford sat out with knee issues.

Over on the Rockies’ side, they’re fresh off a series versus the Padres. After dropping two of the first three in that set, in the Sunday game Colorado took a 7-3 win.

Colorado’s starter on Monday will be Tyler Anderson. Across his 148.1 innings and 6-7 mark this year, Anderson has a 4.79 ERA with 140 Ks and 52 BBs.

Trevor Story leads the Rockies’ hitters this season, entering this week on 150 hits, 72 runs, 26 homers and 86 RBI. On Sunday Story had two hits and an RBI.

The Giants are 5-1 in their last six Monday games and 5-1 in Bumgarner’s last six starts versus the NL West. San Fran is 4-1 in Bumgarner’s last five starts in game one of a series and 5-12 in his last 17 road starts.

Meanwhile, the Rockies are 0-4 in their last four in game one of a series and 0-4 in Anderson’s last four home starts. Colorado is 0-7 in Anderson’s last seven starts and 0-5 in his last five five starts in game one of a series.

Over Bumgarner’s last seven starts, he’s allowed more than two earned just once. That mark includes four quality starts in his last four appearances. Conversely, Bumgarner has allowed 19 earned over his last three starts. I’m going to have to go with the Giants here.

Pick:
San Francisco Giants -119
