The Line: Colorado Rockies -168 / San Francisco Giants +158 --- Over/Under: 10.5
The San Francisco Giants and the Colorado Rockies will be matching up in MLB action from Coors Field on Wednesday.
In the opener of this set, the Rockies snuck out a 9-8 victory. On Tuesday, Colorado made it two by scoring five runs in the seventh inning in a 6-2 win.
For Wednesday’s game, the Giants will be going with Andrew Suarez. In his 133.1 innings and 6-9 record this year, Suarez has a 4.18 ERA with 113 Ks and 34 BBs.
Brandon Crawford leads the way for the Giants this year at the plate, coming into Tuesday on 121 hits, 55 runs, 12 homers and 50 RBI. In game two, Crawford came up empty.
Colorado will be sending out Antonio Senzatela on Wednesday. Senzatela has 62.2 innings this year with a 4-5 record, a 4.88 ERA, 46 Ks and 21 BBs.
Leading the offense for the Rockies is Trevor Story, who entered game two on 154 hits, 74 runs, 28 homers and 92 RBI. On Tuesday, Story picked up one hit.
The Giants are 1-9 in their last 10 in game three of a series and 0-4 in their last four Wednesday games. San Francisco is 0-4 in Suarez’s last four Wednesday starts and 0-3 in his last four starts in game three of a series.
Meanwhile, the Rockies are 4-1 in the last five in game three of a series and 2-5 in Senzatela’s last seven starts. Colorado is 8-3 in Senzatela’s last 11 home starts and 2-5 in his last seven starts with four days’ rest.
Suarez has three quality outings from his last four, and he’s given up zero earned on five hits in 14.0 innings over his last two starts. As for Senzatela, he coughed up seven earned versus the Cards but came back strong with one earned in 6.0 innings versus San Diego his last time out. Still, I like Suarez to keep it going here so I’m taking the Giants.
