Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports

The Seattle Mariners and Colorado Rockies meet Saturday in MLB action at Coors Field.

The Seattle Mariners could use a win here after losing five of their last seven games. The Mariners have allowed 21 runs in their last three games and four or more runs in seven of their last nine games. The Seattle Mariners have lost six of their last seven games when allowing more than one run. Offensively, Jean Segura leads the Mariners with 118 hits and 47 RBI while Dee Gordon and Mitch Haniger have combined for 192 hits and 87 RBI. Wade LeBlanc gets the ball, and he is 5-0 with a 3.39 ERA and 63 strikeouts this season. LeBlanc is 3-3 with a 6.46 ERA and 38 strikeouts in his career against the Rockies.

The Colorado Rockies look to stay hot after winning 11 of their last 14 games. The Rockies have scored 34 runs in their last three games and four or more runs in nine of their last 11 games. The Colorado Rockies have won 15 of their last 21 games when scoring at least one run. Trevor Story leads the Rockies with 104 hits and 67 RBI while Nolan Arenado and Charlie Blackmon have combined for 204 hits and 111 RBI. Jon Gray gets the ball, and he is 7-7 with a 5.77 ERA and 119 strikeouts this season. This will be Gray’s second career game against the Mariners.

The Mariners are 12-3 in their last 15 Saturday games, 7-3 in their last 10 during game 2 of a series and 17-4 in LeBlancs last 21 starts. The Rockies are 4-0 in their last 4 during game 2 of a series, 2-6 in their last 8 Saturday games and 4-0 in Grays last 4 starts during game 2 of a series. The Mariners are 7-2 in the last 9 meetings in Colorado and the over is 5-0-2 in the last 7 meetings in Colorado.

LeBlanc has been hit hard on the road this season, as he has a 4.11 ERA and an allowed batting average of .299 in 35 innings. I doubt things are going to get better pitching in Coors against a Rockies offense that's on fire right now. However, Gray hasn't pitched in two weeks, and he's allowing a .287 batting average on the season and has had trouble keeping the ball inside the yard. This is likely going to be a high scoring game, but it's one the Seattle Mariners can use to kind of get back on track. I'll back the road team as more of a fade from the Rockies than anything else.
