The Washington Nationals and the Colorado Rockies will finish up their MLB series on Wednesday.

In Monday’s opener, the Rockies managed a 7-5 win. On Tuesday, the Nationals struck back on a 6-3 victory.

For Wednesday’s game, the Nationals are going with RHP Anibal Sanchez in the start. Across his 22.0 innings and 0-2 mark this year, Sanchez has a 4.91 ERA with 17 Ks and 11 BBs.

The Nats got some big offensive efforts in the win Tuesday. Victor Robles recorded a doubled with two hits, three RBI and a run on the night.

Over on the Rockies’ side, they’re sending out German Marquez in the start Wednesday. Over his 32.0 innings and 2-1 record this season, Marquez has a 2.25 ERA with 30 Ks and eight walks.

The Rockies managed just six hits on the night in their loss Tuesday. Colorado’s only hitter with multiple knocks was Ryan McMahon, with two and a run scored.

The Nationals are 5-0 in their last five Wednesday games and 10-2 in their last 12 in game three of a series. The over is 4-0 in Washington’s last four Wednesday games and 11-5 in their last 16 in game three of a series.

Meanwhile, the Rockies are 5-2 in Marquez’s last seven home starts and 4-1 in his last five Wednesday starts. Colorado is 1-5 in their last six in game three of a series and 5-1 in their last six Wednesday games.

Over his first four starts this year, Sanchez has just one quality start, and he’s given up at least three earned in each of the other trio. That makes 15.0 innings with 10 earned runs for Sanchez; not bad, but not great.

As for Marquez, he has a one-hit complete-game shutout to his credit this year, and otherwise just has the one bad outing versus Atlanta (5.0 innings; five earned).

I like Marquez to keep things under control here, so I’m going Rockies.

Pick:
Colorado Rockies -145
