Detroit Tigers +137 / Cleveland Indians -147 O/U: 8
The Cleveland Indians and the Detroit Tigers will meet up on the MLB diamond Wednesday to continue their series.
In game one of this set on Tuesday, Cleveland took a 3-1 lead after the second inning and never looked back on the way to an 8-2 victory.
For the Wednesday game, the Indians will be bringing out Trevor Bauer in the start. Over his 14.0 innings and 1-0 mark this year, Bauer carries a 0.64 ERA with 17 Ks and seven walks.
In Tuesday’s matchup, Cleveland’s Brad Miller came through with a two-run homer, and Eric Stamets put up one hit, two RBI and a run.
Over on the Tigers’ side, they’re going with Matthew Boyd on Wednesday. In his 11.1 innings and 0-1 mark this season, Boyd has logged a 3.18 ERA with 23 Ks and four BBs.
In the loss Tuesday, the Tigers’ Miguel Cabrera had two hit with an RBI. Josh Harrison also had a decent outing for Detroit with two hits and a run.
The Indians are 7-1 in Bauer’s last eight versus the AL Central and 5-1 in his last six Wednesday starts. Cleveland is 8-2 in Bauer’s last 10 starts and 5-1 in his last road starts.
Meanwhile, the Tigers are 5-0 in Boyd’s last five home starts and 5-2 in his last seven starts. Detroit is 1-5 in Boyd’s last six starts in game two of a series and 0-5 in his last five with six days’ rest.
Over his first two starts this year, Bauer has been stellar; he was robbed of a win in this first outing with just one earned on one hit in 7.0 innings but came back to avenge himself with zero earned over 7.0 innings.
As for Boyd, he had a pretty “meh” start in his first outing but took care of the Yankees his last time up with 6.1 innings and one earned.
This should be a fun pitching battle, but all things considered I have to go with Bauer and the Indians.
