The Cleveland Indians and the Detroit Tigers will meet up on the MLB diamond Saturday to continue their series.

In the Friday opener, Cleveland came out strong with eight runs in the fourth inning and cruised to a 13-4 win.

For Saturday’s game, the Indians are going with RHP Shane Bieber in the start. Over his 77.1 innings and 5-2 record so far, Bieber has a 4.07 ERA with 96 Ks and 20 BBs.

Cleveland bashed 17 hits in the Friday game. Jake Bauers went off on the stat sheet, finishing 4-for-5 with two runs, four RBI and a triple.

Saturday the Tigers will be going with Gregory Soto in the start. Soto is 0-2 with an 11.20 ERA and 11 Ks this year.

Detroit had a few good swings in the Friday loss, but couldn’t keep up on the scoreboard with their seven hits. The only player with more than one knock was Niko Goodrum with two hits and one run.

The Indians are 4-0 in Bieber’s last four starts in game two of a series and 9-2 in his last 11 road starts. Cleveland is 4-1 in Bieber’s last four starts and 4-1 in his last five with four days’ rest.

Meanwhile, the Tigers are 15-36 in their last 51 in game two of a series and 1-4 in their last five Saturday games. The over is 3-1-1 in the Tigers’ last five Saturday games.

Bieber has one good start (two earned; five hits; 7.0 innings) and two bad ones (11 earned; 13 hits; 6.2 innings) over his last three outings, but oddly enough he’s won two of those and hasn’t even recorded a loss since May 13 on the road against the White Sox.

Bieber’s two bad starts came against the Yankees and Boston, so I think we can trust him here to help the Indians cover.
