Tampa Bay Rays at Detroit Tigers

Detroit Tigers +168 / Tampa Bay Rays -178 O/U: 9
The Tampa Bay Rays and the Detroit Tigers will meet up on the MLB diamond to finish their MLB series on Thursday.
In game one of this set, the Tigers managed a big 9-6 victory. On Wednesday, Tampa evened things up with a 4-0 shutout win.
The Rays are going with Ryne Stanek as the starter Wednesday. Stanek has an 0-1 record, a 3.00 ERA and 35 Ks this year so far.
Tampa posted seven hits in the 4-0 win Wednesday. Ji-Man Choi was the lone hitter with multiple knocks, going 2-for-4 with an RBI.
Over on the Tigers’ side they’re going with Daniel Norris on Thursday in the start. Over his 57.0 innings and 2-4 mark so far, Norris has a 4.58 ERA with 42 Ks and 15 BBs.
Detroit put up just five hits in the loss Wednesday, and no hitter logged more than one. The big “sore thumb” stat for the Tigers was their three errors on the night.
The Rays are 2-8 in their last 10 in game three of a series and 7-2 in their last nine road games versus a left-handed starter. The over is 7-3-2 in Tampa Bay’s last 12 in game three of a series and the under is 20-6-1 in their last 27 road games versus a lefty starter.
Meanwhile, the Tigers are 1-6 in Norris’ last seven home starts and 0-4 in his last four with four days’ rest. Detroit is 1-7 in their last eight in game three of a series and 0-4 in their last four Thursday games.
Norris has had some bad luck on his decisions lately, but for the most part his numbers haven’t been too bad. He’s got a couple of outings that stick out—like six earned in 5.1 innings versus Oakland or five earned in 5.1 innings versus the Braves his last time out—but those seem to be more of an exception.
Usually Norris will end up in the 2-3 earned range, but considering he’s 0-3 in his last four starts I don’t think that will be enough. I’m going Rays.
