Detroit Tigers +185 / Washington Nationals -200 O/U: 10
The Washington Nationals and the Detroit Tigers will match up on the MLB diamond to continue their series on Saturday.
In the Friday opener of this set, the Nationals banged out a 3-1 victory, out-hitting the Tigers 7-6.
For the Saturday game, the Nationals will be sending out Austin Voth for the start. Across 6.0 innings without a decision, Voth has a 3.00 ERA with seven strikeouts and no walks.
The Nats sprinkled in runs during three different innings on Friday. Leading the way for their hitters was Howie Kendrick with two knocks and an RBI.
In the Saturday game, the Tigers will be bringing out Gregory Soto in the start. Soto has an 0-2 record with an 8.66 ERA 14 strikeouts.
Detroit couldn’t get much done on the scoreboard despite six hits on the night. Those were divided between three players with two knocks apiece. Nick Castellanos provided the only run with a solo homer in the fifth.
The Nationals are 6-2 in their last eight Saturday games and 7-3 in their last 10 in game two of a series. The over is 4-1-1 in Washington’s last six in game two of a series as well.
Meanwhile, the Tigers are 1-6 in their last seven Saturday games and 15-40 in their last 55 in game two of a series. The under is 4-1 in Detroit’s last five in game two of a series also.
Well, Voth did well in his 2019 debut, allowing four hits in his 6.0 innings and two earned runs. Last season in limited action he put up a 6.57 ERA with a 1-1 mark in 12.1 innings, four total games and two starts.
It’ll take a while before we see where Voth is headed this season, but for now he’s earned himself another start against a sputtering offensive team. I’m tentatively going Nationals.
