The Line: Arizona Diamondbacks / San Diego Padres --- Over/Under:
FS-Arizona, FS-San Diego
The Arizona Diamondbacks and the San Diego Padres face off on Sunday at Chase Field as they close out their MLB series of NL West teams.
The Arizona Diamondbacks rallied in the bottom of the ninth inning to get the game to extra innings but they fell short in the end taking the loss. David Peralta had two hits and Paul Goldschmidt and Ender Inciarte each had hits as the Diamondbacks scored four runs on nine hits. Starting pitcher Chase Anderson allowed five hits and a run while striking out two over 7.0 innings to not get a decision as Randall Delgado took the loss. For Sunday’s game the Diamondbacks have not named their starter so please check back and I will update this information.
The San Diego Padres appeared to let Saturday’s game in Arizona get away from them but they rallied in extra innings and got the win. Justin Upton hit a home run, Wil Myers had three hits, and Yangervis Solarte was among those Padres with two hits as they scored six runs on 14 hits. Starting pitcher Tyson Ross allowed five hits and two runs while striking out six over 6.0 innings to bot get a decision as Kevin Quackenbush got the win. For Sunday’s game the Padres start Andrew Cashner who has allowed 39 hits and 13 earned runs while striking out 39 over 37 innings for a 1-5 record and a 3.16 ERA.
Arizona is 4-11 in game four of a series, 1-5 in Sunday games, and 15-39 against a team with a winning record. San Diego is 4-0 in Sunday games, 2-6 in game four of a series, and 3-8 in Cashner’s last 11 road starts.
Because Arizona hasn’t named their starter the odds for this one aren’t out yet so please check back and I will update this with my free pick.
