The Line: Los Angeles Dodgers -121 / Miami Marlins +111 --- Over/Under: 7.5
The Los Angeles Dodgers and the Miami Marlins face off on Tuesday for game two of their MLB series.
The Los Angeles Dodgers appeared to have blown the series opening game on Monday but they rallied in the bottom of the ninth inning to get the win. Scott Van Slyke had three hits including a home run and Adrian Gonzalez and Howie Kendrick each had hits as the Dodgers scored five runs on seven hits. Starting pitcher Zack Greinke allowed six hits and a run while striking out five over 7.0 innings to not get a decision as J.P. Howell faced just one batter to get the win. For Tuesday’s game the Dodgers start Michael Bolsinger who allowed five hits and a run while striking out five over 5.2 innings in his only appearance this season getting a no-decision against the Giants.
The Miami Marlins looked like they had rallied for the win on Monday but they let it slip away taking the loss. Marcell Ozuna and Christian Yellich each hit home runs and Michael Morse had three hits as the Marlins scored three runs on nine hits. Starting pitcher Tom Koehler allowed three hits and a run while striking out five over 6.0 innings to not get a decision as Steve Chisek blew the save and took the loss. For Tuesday’s game the Marlins start Dan Haren who has allowed 26 hits and 11 earned runs while striking out 24 over 37 innings for a 4-1 record and a 2.68 ERA.
Los Angeles is 9-2 in their last 11 games, 11-4 against the NL East, and 41-17 as a home favorite. Miami is 5-1 in game two of a series, 2-6 against a right-handed starter, and 5-1 in Haren’s last six starts. Miami is 1-5 in their last six games in Los Angeles.
The total is set at 7.5 but these teams can swing the bat and I like the over. My stronger play is on the winning side and I will post that in the Premium Area as well as on the App.
