Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports

The Boston Red Sox and the Houston Astros will meet up at Minute Maid Park on Wednesday evening for Game 4 of the MLB American League Championship Series.

The two teams split the first pair of games in this set, Houston 7-2 in Game 1 and Boston 7-5 in Sunday’s matchup. In Tuesday’s Game 3, the Sox kept it going with an 8-2 victory.

For the Wednesday game 4, the Red Sox will be sending out RHP Rick Porcello. In 191.1 innings and a 17-7 record during the regular season, Porcello posted a 4.28 ERA.

Coming out of the weekend, Xander Bogaerts held the Red Sox playoffs hits lead with seven hits, three runs, a homer and two RBI. On Tuesday, Bogaerts had a hit and an RBI.

Over on the Astros’ side, they’re going with Charlie Morton in Game 4. Across 157.0 innings and a 15-3 record in regular-season play this year, Morton put up a 3.13 ERA.

Tops in hitting for the Astros coming into Game 3 was George Springer on nine hits, five runs, three homers and seven RBI. On Tuesday, Springer had one hit.

The Red Sox are 35-17 in their last 52 Wednesday games and 6-1 in Porcello’s last seven starts. Boston is 5-1 in Porcello’s last six Wednesday starts and 8-3 in his last 11 road starts.

Meanwhile, the Astros are 52-21 in their last 73 Wednesday games and 1-4 in Morton’s last five starts versus a team with a winning record. The over is 7-1 in Houston’s last eight Wednesday games and the under is 8-2-1 in Morton’s last 11 starts overall.

In Game 4 of the ALDS versus the Yankees, Porcello logged his first career playoff win, and kept it going with an inning of relief in the Game 2 victory of the ALCS. He’s carrying a nice 1.35 ERA this postseason.

As for Morton, this will be his 2018 playoff debut, as he wasn’t needed during the Division Series sweep. Last year against Boston in the ALDS, Morton logged two runs in 4.1 innings of work in a Game 4 win.

This should be a fun matchup and really could go either way. I’m staying away from this one but giving a slight edge to the at-home Astros.

Houston Astros -140
