Houston Astros -120 / Cleveland Indians +100 -- O/U: 8.5
The Cleveland Indians and the Houston Astros meet in the finale of their four game set in MLB action from Minute Maid Park on this week’s edition of Sunday Night Baseball.
The Cleveland Indians will look to win the series after dropping game three on Saturday by a final score of 4-3 in 10 innings. Francisco Lindor and Mike Freeman each had RBIs for the Tribe while Carlos Gonzalez went 2 for 4 and Kevin Plawecki added a double for Cleveland. Jose Ramirez, Jake Bauers, Tyler Naquin and Roberto Perez each had a base hit as well for the Indians in the losing effort. Shane Bieber allowed three runs on three hits while walking four and striking out nine over six innings of work, not factoring in the decision. Adam Cimber took the loss, falling to 2-2 on the year. Carlos Carrasco will start game four and is 2-2 with a 6.00 ERA and 33 strikeouts this season. In his career, Carrasco is 4-2 with a 3.45 ERA and 55 strikeouts against Houston.
The Houston Astros will look to salvage a series split after taking game three on Saturday. Carlos Correa led the ‘Stros by going 2 for 4 with a home run and two RBIs while Tony Kemp had a solo home run and Aledmys Diaz had an RBI as well as a double. Jose Altuve added a base hit to cap off Houston’s offense as the Astros had just five hits as a team in the winning effort. Brad Peacock allowed just one run on four hits while striking out seven over six innings of work, not factoring in the decision. Roberto Osuna picked up the win in relief to improve to 2-0 this season. Wade Miley will start game four and is 1-2 with a 3.58 ERA and 18 strikeouts this season. In his career, Miley is 1-3 with a 5.26 ERA and 15 strikeouts against Cleveland.
Cleveland is 5-1 in their last 6 road games and 4-1 in Carrasco’s last 5 starts against the AL West while the under is 5-2 in Carrasco’s last 7 road starts. Houston is 9-3 in their last 12 home games and 42-19 in their last 61 games against the AL Central while the under is 4-1 in their last 5 game four matchups. The under is 4-0 in Carrasco’s last 4 road starts against Houston.
Houston and a low line at home is tempting considering that the Astros have one of the more talented lineups in the majors that can break out offensively at any time. However, Miley has been up and down for the most part so far and he has struggled in his career against the Indians with an ERA over five. Carrasco has an inflated ERA, but he has thrown 11 straight scoreless innings across two starts and while that streak may come to an end, I think the Indians hold some solid value on Sunday night so I’ll take the Indians for the series victory.
