The Minnesota Twins and the Houston Astros will match up to continue their MLB series on Tuesday.

In Monday’s game one of this set, the Twins scored four runs in the sixth on the way to a 9-5 win.

For the Tuesday game, Minnesota will be sending out Michael Pineda for the start. In his 18.2 innings and 2-1 mark this year, Pineda has a 5.30 ERA with 16 Ks and three BBs.

In Minnesota’s Monday victory, Jorge Polanco put up four hits, a two-run homer, four RBI and two runs on the night.

Over on the Astros’ side, they’re going with Wade Miley in the start Tuesday. Across 21.2 innings and a 1-2 record so far, Miley has a 3.32 ERA with 11 strikeouts and four walks.

The Astros’ top hitter Monday was Josh Reddick, with three hits and one RBI. Michael Brantley added two hits, two runs and an RBI for Houston as well.

The Twins are 4-0 in their last four games versus a left-handed starter and 1-5 in their last six road games versus a left-handed starter. The over is 4-0 in Minnesota’s last four in game two of a series and 5-1 in the last six versus a left-handed starter.

Meanwhile, the Astros are 13-4 in their last 17 Tuesday games and 47-20 in their last 67 in game two of a series. The over is 4-0 in Houston’s last four Tuesday games and the under is 12-5-1 in their last 18 in game two of a series.

Pineda started out okay this season over his first three starts, with five earned in 15.0 innings of work and a 2-0 record. Things went off the rails for Pineda his last time out however, with 3.2 innings and six earned on seven hits.

As for Miley, his record looks crummy but he’s pitched fairly well with eight earned over his 21.2 innings on 22 total hits. Houston has given Miley exactly one run of support in two of his four starts, though.

The Astros are just too good to keep flailing offensively every time, so I feel okay taking Houston here. Pineda could help make a game out of it, however.
