The Texas Rangers and the Houston Astros will meet up on the MLB circuit Saturday to continue their series.

In the Friday opener of this set, the Astros eked out a 4-3 win, scoring all their runs in the second and third innings.

For the Saturday game, the Rangers will be sending out Ariel Jurado in the start. Across his 70.0 innings and 5-5 record this year, Jurado has a 4.63 ERA with 51 Ks and 22 BBs.

Texas put up 10 hits in the Friday loss but couldn’t score in seven of nine innings. Asdrubal Cabrera collected three hits there with a solo homer as well.

Saturday, the Astros will be sending Jose Urquidy to the mound. Urquidy will be making his third Major League start here; he’s got a 10.50 ERA with eight strikeouts.

The Astros took advantage of some timely hitting and were able to bang out a win on Friday. Jose Altuve was the only Houston player with two hits; he had a solo homer as well.

The Rangers are 1-4 in their last five in game two of a series and 1-4 in Jurado’s last five starts. Texas is 1-4 in Jurado’s last five starts on grass and 1-4 in his last five versus the AL West.

Meanwhile, the Astros are 37-15 in their last 52 Saturday games and 50-23 in their last 73 in game two of a series. The over is 3-1-1 in the Astros’ last five Saturday games as well.

Jurado’s last two starts have been pretty rough. In those, he’s 0-2 with 11 earned on 14 hits in a combined 10.0 innings. Back in early June, Jurado was rolling along pretty well with three consecutive wins, but he only has one quality start over his last six games and is 1-3 in that time.

All things considered, I’m leaning pretty heavily toward the Astros here.
