Kansas City Royals +118 / Chicago White Sox -128 O/U: 8.5
The Chicago White Sox and the Kansas City Royals will match up on the MLB diamond on Saturday.
In the opener of this set on Friday, the Royals powered to a 6-4 victory with three runs in the sixth and two more in the seventh.
For the Saturday game, the White Sox will be sending out Lucas Giolito in the start. Over his 67.1 innings and 8-1 record so far, Giolito has a 2.54 ERA with 78 Ks and 20 BBs.
Chicago managed 10 hits in the Friday loss, but could only score in the third and seventh innings. Yoan Moncada and James McCann each had two hits in that one, with three RBI between them.
Over on the Royals’ side, they’re going with Brad Keller in the start Saturday. Across 78.0 innings and a 3-7 record this year, Keller has a 4.50 ERA with 54 Ks and 42 BBs.
KC also put up 10 hits in the Friday victory. Leading the team was Adalberto Mondesi with three hits, two RBI and two runs.
The White Sox are 2-5 in their last seven in game two of a series and 7-19 in their last 26 Saturday games. Chicago is 5-0 in Giolito’s last five road starts and 7-0 in his last seven starts.
Meanwhile, the Royals are 0-8 in their last eight in game two of a series and 0-5 in their last five Saturday games. KC is 1-6 in Keller’s last seven starts on grass and 1-7 in his last eight overall.
Giolito has been cruising along very well for the Sox lately. He’s got six straight wins under his belt, and also three straight quality starts (going a total of 24.1 innings in those).
As for Keller, he has two quality starts in his last three outings, but is just 1-4 in his last five outings. The good news is that he’s lasted at least 6.0 in each of his last three.
With Giolito dealing, I have to go with the Sox here.
