Kansas City Royals +105 / Cleveland Indians -125 O/U: 9
The Cleveland Indians and the Kansas City Royals will continue their MLB series on Saturday.
In the Friday opener of this set, the Royals scored six runs in the first inning and cruised to a dominant 8-1 victory.
For Saturday’s game, the Indians will be going with Jefry Rodriguez in the start. In his 52.0 innings and 3-3 mark last year Rodriguez posted a 5.71 ERA with 39 Ks and 37 walks.
On Friday, the only scoring Cleveland could muster came on Tyler Naquin’s solo homer in the second inning; the Indians had just four hits on the evening.
Over on the Royals’ side, they’re sending out Homer Bailey on Saturday. In 10.0 innings this season, Bailey has put up a 9.00 ERA with 15 Ks and four walks.
KC’s Alex Gordon was the big hitter on Friday in the victory, as he logged a two-run homer, three RBI and four hits. Whit Merrifield kept his good fortunes going with three hits and two runs as well.
The Indians are 5-2 in their last seven Saturday games and the under is 4-1 in their last five in game two of a series. The over is 5-2-1 in Cleveland’s last eight Saturday games and the under is 7-3-1 in their last 11 versus a starter with a WHIP greater than 1.30.
Meanwhile, the Royals are 7-2 in their last seven Saturday games and 1-4 in their last five in game two of a series. The over is 5-0 in KC’s last five Saturday games and 4-0-1 in their last five in game two of a series.
When Rodriguez was with Miami last year, he had a few bumpy outings at the tail end of the season, with 11 earned in 8.2 innings across his final two starts.
As for Bailey, he did okay in his debut (5.0 innings; three earned) but faltered on April 8 (5.0 innings; seven earned). The line here isn’t too crazy so I can’t even think about going with KC on a value pick, though. Give me the Indians.
