Cleveland Indians (45-37) at Kansas City Royals (25-58)
|Date & Time||Tuesday July 3, 2018, 8:15 PM (EDT)|
The Line: Kansas City Royals +185 / Cleveland Indians -200 --- Over/Under: 8.5
Over at Kauffman Stadium on Tuesday, the Cleveland Indians and the Kansas City Royals will be picking up their MLB set once again.
In the Monday opener, the Indians scored four runs in the fourth inning on the way to a 9-3 win.
For Tuesday’s game, the Indians will be rolling out RHP Shane Bieber. In his 24.1 innings and 3-0 record this year, Bieber has a 2.22 ERA with 27 Ks and four walks.
Leading the way for the Indians coming into this set was Francisco Lindor with 99 hits, 70 runs, 21 homers and 48 RBI. On Monday, Lindor posted a whopping seven RBI with two homers and three runs.
Over on the Royals’ side, they’re sending out Danny Duffy on Tuesday. Over 94.2 innings and a 4-7 record this year, Duffy has a 4.94 ERA, 83 Ks and 46 BBs.
The Royals’ top hitter this year is Whit Merrifield, who came into this series on 89 homers, 32 runs and 24 RBI. In the opener, Merrifield logged a solo homer.
The Indians are 2-5 in their last seven in game two of a series and 4-0 in Bieber’s last four starts. Cleveland is also 4-0 in Bieber’s last four starts on grass and the over is 12-5 in their last 17 games versus a left-handed starter.
Meanwhile, the Royals are 0-4 in their last four Tuesday games and 6-1 in Duffy’s last seven starts. KC is 5-2 in Duffy’s last seven starts and 1-6 in his last seven home starts.
Bieber has a relatively small sample size this year, but he’s done pretty well over his last three starts with just two earned in 18.2 innings. As for Duffy, he coughed up six earned versus Houston in 6.0 innings (which is understandable) but since then has given up just one earned on seen hits in 12.0 innings across two starts. This should be a decent pitching matchup, but I’m going with the Indians here.
