The Line: Kansas City Royals +155 / New York Yankees -165 --- Over/Under: 9.5
MLB comes to Kauffman Stadium Friday where the Kansas City Royals host the New York Yankees.
The New York Yankees come off a series win versus Oakland after knocking off the Athletics 6-2. New York was dominant at the plate and on the mound with ace Luis Severino allowing a run on five hits ad two walks through six frames to up his record to 6-1.
The Yankees pounded out 12 hits and walked four times with Giancarlo Stanton going 4-4 with a homer and three runs driven in. New York saw Aaron Hicks smack a two run single while Aaron Judge went 2-4 with an RBI and two runs.
Veteran left hander CC Sabathia opens the series on the mound at Kauffman Stadium Friday. Sabathia did not receive a decision last time out in a 5-4 loss to Boston with four runs plated on nine hits over four frames.
The Kansas City Royals have been struggling with losses in seven of eight after dropping a 5-3 decision versus Tampa Bay on Wednesday. Kansas City starter Jason Hammel fell to 0-5 with all five runs given up on ten hits over six frames.
The Royals logged eight hits and walked four times with Jorge Soler driving in a run and scoring while Mike Moustakas and Alcides Escobar each hit a sacrifice fly. Kansas City begins their series versus the NY Yankees with Jakob Junis on the mound. Junis comes in off of a 6-2 defeat at Cleveland with four runs scoring on six hits and a pair of BB over 5.2 innings.
NY Yankees are 7-1 in their last 8 road games and are 48-20 in their last 68 games on grass and are 51-24 in their last 75 overall. Under is 6-2 in Kansas City last 8 Friday games and Kansas City are 10-25 in their last 35 overall and Kansas City are 8-3 in Junis' last 11 home starts. NY Yankees are 7-1 in Sabathia’s last 8 starts vs. Kansas City and are 78-36 in the last 114 meetings.
I have to go with the Yankees here as they are red hot with a crafty Sabathia on the mound…
