Kansas City Royals -105 / Texas Rangers -105 O/U: 10.5
The Texas Rangers and the Kansas City Royals will meet up to finish their MLB series on Thursday.
In the Tuesday opener of this set, the Royals banged out an 11-5 win. On Wednesday, Texas bagged a 6-1 victory.
For the Thursday game, the Rangers will be sending out Lance Lynn in the start. Across 47.2 innings and a 4-3 record this year, Lynn has a 5.48 ERA with 44 Ks and 17 BBs.
Texas’ bats were going pretty well in the Wednesday game, and the team notched 12 hits overall. Nomar Mazara led the way with four of those knocks, and Ronald Guzman finished with three RBI.
Over on the Royals’ side, they’re going with Homer Bailey on Thursday. In his 41.0 innings and 4-3 mark so far, Bailey has a 4.83 ERA with 38 Ks and 16 BBs.
Kansas City put up nine hits in the loss Wednesday, but couldn’t turn them into runs. Leading the way was Adalberto Mondesi with three hits and the lone RBI.
The over is 5-0 in the Rangers’ last five in game three of a series and 8-2 in the last 10 Thursday games.
Meanwhile, the Royals are 12-48 in their last 60 in game three of a series and 4-1 in Bailey’s last five starts on grass. KC is 8-17 in their last 25 Thursday games and the over is 9-4-1 in their last 14 in game three of a series.
Lynn has had a few pretty bad outings this year, but there’s hope in his last three. Two of those were quality starts, adding up to 14.0 innings and four earned.
As for Bailey, he’s showing good signs lately as well, with three earned in his last 11.0 innings over two starts.
This should be an interesting pitching matchup and a coin-flip outcome, but I’ll give the at-home Royals a slight edge.
