The Line: Los Angeles Angels -163 / Minnesota Twins +153 --- Over/Under: 8
On Sunday from Angel Stadium, the Minnesota Twins and the Los Angeles Angels will be finishing up their MLB series.
The two teams split the first pair of games for this set, then on Saturday evening, the Twins took a wild 12-inning game 5-3.
For Sunday’s matchup, the Twins will be going with RHP Fernando Romero. In his 11.2 innings and 2-0 record this year, Romero has a clean 0.00 ERA with 14 Ks and six walks.
Heading into the weekend, the Twins leading hitter was Eddie Rosario with 39 hits, 25 runs and 27 RBI with nine homers. On Saturday, Rosario had two hits and a run.
The Angels will be carting out Shohei Ohtani in the start on Sunday. Across 26.1 innings and a 3-1 mark this season, Ohtani has a 4.10 ERA with 32 Ks and 11 BBs.
Tops in hitting for the Angels coming into the weekend was Andrelton Simmons with 47 hits, 24 runs, three homers and 23 RBI. On Saturday, Simmons had a hit and a run.
The Twins are 5-2 in their last seven Sunday games and 7-1 in their last eight road games. Minnesota is also 7-1 in the last eight overall and 5-1 in their last six versus a team with a winning record.
Meanwhile, the Angels are 5-2 in their last seven Sunday games and 2-6 in their last eight in game four of a series. LA is also 4-1 in Ohtani’s last five starts and 4-1 in his last five starts on grass.
Romero has looked very good in his limited action so far this year. He’s pitched in two shutouts and allowed just seven hits total. As for Ohtani, he’s been decent overall but does have a couple of hiccups here and there. This looks like a good spot for the Twins to secure a win if Romero can stay hot. I’m going to go with the Twins here in a value pick.
