|Date & Time||Sunday April 7, 2019, 4:07 PM (EDT)|
The Line: Texas Rangers +130 / Los Angeles Angels -141 -- Over/Under: 9
The Texas Rangers and Los Angels Angels meet Sunday in MLB action at Angel Stadium.
The Texas Rangers look for a victory after splitting their last six games. The Rangers have scored 13 runs in their last three games and one run in three of their last six games. The Texas Rangers are 1-4 this season when scoring four or less runs. Elvis Andrus leads the Rangers with 14 hits and five RBI while Shin-Soo Choo and Asdrubal Cabrera have combined for 15 hits and 12 RBI. Shelby Miller gets the ball, and he is 0-0 with a 4.91 ERA and two strikeouts this season. This will be Miller’s second career game against the Angels.
The Los Angels Angels look for another victory to rebound from their 3-6 record. The Angels have scored 12 runs in their last three games and three or less runs in six of their first nine games. The Los Angels Angels are 3-2 this season when scoring three or more runs. Mike Trout leads the Angels with 10 hits and 10 RBI while David Fletcher and Albert Pujols have combined for 15 hits and three RBI. Chris Stratton gets the ball, and he is 0-1 with a 8.31 ERA and one strikeout this season. This will be Stratton’s first career game against the Rangers.
The Rangers are 7-15 in their last 22 vs. American League West, 13-29 in their last 42 Sunday games and 5-16 in their last 21 during game 4 of a series. The Angels are 2-5 in their last 7 during game 4 of a series, 3-8 in their last 11 Sunday games and 1-5 in their last 6 overall. The Rangers are 1-6 in the last 7 meetings in Los Angeles and 1-6 in the last 7 meetings. The under is 8-1-1 in Angels last 10 overall. The under is 6-2 in Rangers last 8 road games.
The Los Angels Angels have found their mojo these last couple of games and that should continue against Miller, a pitcher who has struggled for the large part of his career. The Texas Rangers offense seems to run hot and cold, and they've been ice cold the last two games of this series. Stratton isn't a pitcher I want to make a habit of getting behind, but the Angels have been the better team in this series and have been one of those teams in the past that can string wins together when everything is going right. I'll take the Angels at home for their third straight victory.
