The Line: Los Angeles Dodgers -230 / Atlanta Braves +212 --- Over/Under: 6.5
The Los Angeles Dodgers and the Atlanta Braves face off on Wednesday at Dodger Stadium in game three of their MLB series.
The Los Angeles Dodgers exploded on Tuesday as they blew out the Braves. Adrian Gonzalez hit a home run, Joc Pederson had two hits, and Jimmy Rollins had a hit as the Dodgers scored eight runs on 11 hits. Starting pitcher Clayton Kershaw allowed four hits and struck out 10 over 7.0 scoreless innings to get the win and go to 3-3 for the season. For Wednesday’s game the Dodgers start Zack Greinke who has allowed 41 hits and 10 runs while striking out 49 over 61 innings for a 5-1 record and a 1.48 ERA.
The Atlanta Braves simply had no answers as they were thumped by the Dodgers on Tuesday. Mick Markakis had three hits and Cameron Maybin and Andrelton Simmons each had hits as the Braves failed to score on five hits. Starting pitcher Julio Teheran has allowed 10 hits and eight runs while striking out one over 4.1 innings to take a loss and fall to 4-3 for the season. For Wednesday’s game the Braves start Alex Wood who has allowed 56 hits and 20 earned runs while striking out 32 over 47 innings for a 2-2 record and a 3.83 ERA.
Los Angeles is 37-15 in their last 52 home games, 51-24 as a favorite, and 44-20 in Greinke’s last 64 starts. Atlanta is 7-4 in their last 11 games, 1-7 against a team with a winning record, and 1-6 in Wood’s last seven starts. Atlanta is 1-10 in the last 11 meetings of these two.
It’s just tough to take the Braves here even as ridiculous as the odds are so while I won’t play it my pick is the Dodgers.
