|Date & Time||Thursday May 10, 2018, 10:10 PM (EDT)|
The Line: Los Angeles Dodgers -216 / Cincinnati Reds +200 --- Over/Under: 7.5
The Cincinnati Reds and Los Angeles Dodgers meet Thursday in MLB action at Dodger Stadium.
The Cincinnati Reds could use a feel good victory here after losing six of their last nine games. The Reds have allowed 10 runs in their last three games and six or more runs in five of their last nine games. The Cincinnati Reds have lost seven straight games when allowing more than two runs. Offensively, Jose Peraza leads the Reds with 41 hits and 10 RBI while Scooter Gennett and Joey Votto have combined for 74 hits and 38 RBI. Tyler Mahle gets the ball, and he is 2-4 with a 4.35 ERA and 42 strikeouts this season. This will be Mahle’s first career game against the Dodgers.
The Los Angeles Dodgers could use another victory here after splitting their last eight games. The Dodgers have scored 11 runs in their last three games and four or more runs in five of their last six games. The Los Angeles Dodgers have split their last eight games when scoring at least four runs. Cody Bellinger leads the Dodgers with 38 hits and 17 RBI while Matt Kemp and Chris Taylor have combined for 71 hits and 30 RBI. Walker Buehler gets the ball, and he is 2-0 with a 1.13 ERA and 19 strikeouts this season. This will be Buehler’s first career game against the Reds.
The Reds are 5-11 in their last 16 during game 1 of a series, 26-59 in their last 85 road games and 0-7 in their last 7 Thursday games. The Dodgers are 9-4 in their last 13 Thursday games, 117-54 in their last 171 home games and 5-10 in their last 15 overall. The Reds are 9-29 in the last 38 meetings in Los Angeles, 25-56 in the last 81 meetings and the over is 6-1 in the last 7 meetings.
Mahle has been pretty decent this season, allowing three or less runs in five of his seven starts, but his hiccups have come on the road where he has an ERA well over four and is allowing a .317 batting average. Buehler has been good as advertised, allowing just 10 hits and two runs in 16 innings while striking out 19 guys. Buehler is also allowing just a .179 batting average and is coming off six hitless innings against the Padres. The Dodgers offense has also found some confidence as of late. I'll take the Dodgers and the RL here, as the ML is always insane with this team.
