The Line: Los Angeles Dodgers -200 / Colorado Rockies +185 --- Over/Under: 8
The Los Angeles Dodgers and the Colorado Rockies face off on Sunday at Dodger Stadium as they close out their MLB series of NL West teams.
The Los Angeles Dodgers were big favorites on Saturday but they lost to the Rockies for the second time in three days. Enrique Hernandez, Jimmy Rollins, and Howie Kendrick each had hits as the Dodgers scored one run on three hits. Starting pitcher Zack Greinke allowed four hits and a run while striking out five over 6.0 innings to take the loss and fall to 5-1 for the season. For Sunday’s game the Dodgers start Michael Bolsinger who has allowed 10 hits and two runs while striking out eight over 11.1 innings for a 1-0 record and a 1.59 ERA.
The Colorado Rockies got the bats going and beat the Dodgers in LA on Saturday. Carlos Gonzalez, Nolan Arenado, and Daniel Descalso each hit home runs as the Rockies scored seven runs on nine hits. Starting pitcher Jorge De La Rosa allowed two hits and struck out three over 7.1 scoreless innings to get the win and go to 1-2 for the season. For Sunday’s game the Rockies start Kyle Kendrick who has allowed 52 hits and 34 earned run while striking out 25 over 40 innings for a 1-4 record and a 7.65 ERA.
Los Angeles is 7-1 in game four of a series, 51-22 against the NL West, and 36-18 against a right-handed starter. Colorado is 28-65 as an underdog, 9-20 in their last 29 games, and 1-5 in Kendricks’ last six starts. Colorado is 8-19 in their last 27 games against Los Angeles.
The odds here look crazy but they are justified as I look for the Dodgers to bounce back and get the win.
