The Colorado Rockies and Los Angeles Dodgers meet Tuesday in MLB action at Dodger Stadium.
The Colorado Rockies look for another victory after splitting their last 10 games. The Rockies have allowed 19 runs in their last three games and four or more runs in eight of their last 12 games. The Colorado Rockies have lost 12 of their last 14 games when allowing more than three runs. Offensively, Nolan Arenado leads the Rockies with 52 hits and 25 RBI while Trevor Story and Charlie Blackmon have combined for 86 hits and 58 RBI. Chad Bettis gets the ball, and he is 4-1 with a 3.27 ERA and 35 strikeouts this season. Bettis is 2-2 with a 4.89 ERA and 31 strikeouts in his career against the Dodgers.
The Los Angeles Dodgers look for a victory here after splitting their last eight games. The Dodgers have scored 13 runs in their last three games and three or less runs in five of their last 10 games. The Los Angeles Dodgers have lost seven straight games when scoring three or less runs. Matt Kemp leads the Dodgers with 46 hits and 20 RBI while Chris Taylor and Cody Bellinger have combined for 89 hits and 38 RBI. Kenta Maeda gets the ball, and he is 3-3 with a 3.89 ERA and 54 strikeouts this season. Maeda is 4-2 with a 2.56 ERA and 36 strikeouts in his career against the Rockies.
The Rockies are 4-1 in their last 5 Tuesday games, 5-1 in Bettis' last 6 road starts and 7-3 in Bettis' last 10 starts. The Dodgers are 38-18 in their last 56 Tuesday games, 4-10 in their last 14 games vs. a right-handed starter and 0-4 in their last 4 home games. The Rockies are 10-25 in the last 35 meetings in Los Angeles, 5-2 in the last 7 meetings and the over is 5-2 in Bettis' last 7 starts vs. Dodgers.
The Los Angeles Dodgers had a hot streak going but got back to their ways Monday, as this team can't hit with runners in scoring position and they find a creative way to blow a possible comeback in the ninth. It's not a fun bet when picking the Dodgers, especially with how big of favorties they are. Bettis has been solid this season, especially on the road where he has a 1.83 ERA and an allowed batting average of .203. I'm assuming the Rockies will be an underdog yet again, and it's hard not making a case for them given that the money burners the Dodgers have been.
