|Date & Time||Tuesday September 18, 2018, 10:10 PM (EDT)|
The Line: Los Angeles Dodgers -210 / Colorado Rockies +194 --- Over/Under: 7
The Colorado Rockies and the Los Angeles Dodgers will be continuing their MLB series from Dodger Stadium on Tuesday.
In the Monday opener, the Dodgers scored eight runs in the first four innings and cruised to an 8-2 win.
For Tuesday’s game, the Rockies will be sending out lefty Kyle Freeland. Across his 182.2 innings and 15-7 record this year, Freeland has a 2.96 ERA with 64 BBs and 159 Ks.
Leading the way in hitting for the Rockies is Charlie Blackmon, who entered this set on 164 hits, 108 runs, 26 homers and 64 RBI. On Monday, Blackmon was 1-for-3.
Over on the Dodgers’ side, they’re rolling with Clayton Kershaw on Tuesday. In his 143.1 innings and 8-5 record this year, Kershaw has a 2.51 ERA with 142 Ks and 23 BBs.
Tops in hitting for the Dodgers is Cody Bellinger, who came into this series on 136 hits, 81 runs, 23 homers and 71 RBI. In game one, Bellinger had one hit.
The Rockies are 16-6 in their last 22 in game two of a series and 5-0 in Freeland’s last five starts in game two of a series. Colorado is 4-0 in Freeland’s last four Tuesday starts and 5-1 in his last six road starts.
Meanwhile, the Dodgers are 5-2 in their last seven in game two of a series and 55-16 in Kershaw’s last 71 home starts. LA is 68-22 in Kershaw’s last 90 starts and 21-8 in his last 29 Tuesday starts.
Freeland has been on quite a roll lately; he’s got eight straight quality starts and hasn’t recorded a loss since way back on August 1. As for Kershaw, he’s got a nice long string of quality starts himself, and has allowed just 11 earned over his last six starts. This should be a great pitching battle and a must-watch game for any MLB fan. I’m giving the Rockies a slight edge but staying far away. The under might be the way to go however, if you can shop around and find a good number.
