The Line: Los Angeles Dodgers -136 / Miami Marlins +126 --- Over/Under: 7.5
The Los Angeles Dodgers and the Miami Marlins face off on Wednesday at Dodger Stadium for game three of their MLB series.
The Los Angeles Dodgers continue to lead the National League West and they helped their cause on Tuesday with another win over the Marlins. Howie Kendrick and Andre Ethier each had home runs and Alex Guerrero had three hits as the Dodgers scored 11 runs on 21 hits. Starting pitcher Mike Bolsinger allowed five hits and a run while striking out three over 5.2 innings to get the win. For Wednesday’s game the Dodgers start Carlos Frias who has allowed 12 hits and three runs while striking out 11 over 12.2 innings for a 2-3 record and a 2.13 ERA.
The Miami Marlins appeared to still be feeling the affects of Monday’s loss as they were blown out by the Dodgers on Tuesday. Giancarlo Stanton hit a home run and Martin Prado and Adeiny Hechavarria had hits as the Marlins scored one run on five hits. Starting pitcher Dan Haren allowed 11 hits and six runs while striking out four over 4.1 innings to take the loss and fall to 4-2 for the season. For Wednesday’s game the Marlins start Jared Cosart who has allowed 27 hits and 14 earned runs while striking out 20 over 34.1 innings for a 1-3 record and a 3.67 ERA.
Los Angeles is 6-0 against a team with a losing record, 41-15 as a favorite, and 40-19 in their last 59 games. Miami is 4-11 as a road underdog, 1-5 in their last six games, and 1-7 in Cosart’s last eight starts. Miami is 1-7 in their last eight games in Los Angeles.
The Dodgers are just rolling at home and the Marlins look to be on the road just a little too long so I see the Dodgers rolling again here.
