|Date & Time||Thursday August 2, 2018, 9:10 PM (EDT)|
The Line: Los Angeles Dodgers -200 / Milwaukee Brewers +185 --- Over/Under: 7.5
The Milwaukee Brewers and Los Angeles Dodgers meet Thursday in MLB action at Dodger Stadium.
The Milwaukee Brewers look for a victory here after winning five of their last seven games. The Brewers have scored 10 runs in their last three games and four or more runs in seven of their last 10 games. The Milwaukee Brewers have won six of their last nine games when scoring at least three runs. Christian Yelich leads the Brewers with 118 hits and 57 RBI while Lorenzo Cain and Travis Shaw have combined for 192 hits and 91 RBI. Jhoulys Chacin gets the ball, and he is 10-3 with a 3.45 ERA and 103 strikeouts this season. Chacin is 11-8 with a 4.03 ERA and 109 strikeouts in his career against the Dodgers.
The Los Angeles Dodgers look for a spark of consistency here after splitting their last 12 games. The Dodgers have scored eight runs in their last three games and four or more runs in seven of their last 11 games. The Los Angeles Dodgers have won four straight games when scoring more than two runs. Chris Taylor leads the Dodgers with 101 hits and 50 RBI while Matt Kemp and Cody Bellinger have combed for 192 hits and 108 RBI. Clayton Kershaw gets the ball, and he is 4-5 with a 2.52 ERA and 91 strikeouts this season. Kershaw is 5-5 with a 2.85 ERA and 93 strikeouts in his career against the Brewers.
The Brewers are 4-1 in their last 5 Thursday games, 1-4 in their last 5 during game 4 of a series and 4-1 in Chacins last 5 starts. The Dodgers are 1-4 in their last 5 during game 4 of a series, 1-4 in Kershaws last 5 Thursday starts and 62-20 in Kershaws last 82 starts. The Brewers are 5-2 in the last 7 meetings and the Dodgers are 1-4 in Kershaws last 5 home starts vs. Brewers.
The Los Angeles Dodgers are once again overpriced just because they have Kershaw on the mound, as the Brewers are playing better baseball right now and Chacin has been really solid this season. However, winning Wednesday in extra innings could have provided this club with the spark it needed heading into August. Kershaw is also starting to look like Kershaw, as he's coming off a game in which he allowed one run in seven innings, and he's allowed two or less runs in seven of his last nine starts. I'm taking the Dodgers here with their ace on the hill and taking the RL to add actual value to the bet.
