The New York Mets and Los Angeles Dodgers meet Thursday in MLB action at Dodger Stadium.
The New York Mets look for a win after splitting their last six games. The Mets have scored 20 runs in their last three games and four or more runs in their last 10 games. The New York Mets have won 10 of their last 15 games when scoring four or more runs. Jeff McNeil leads the Mets with 55 hits and 15 RBI while Amed Rosario and Pete Alonso have combined for 106 hits and 72 RBI. Jason Vargas gets the ball, and he is 1-2 with a 5.22 ERA and 23 strikeouts this season. Vargas is 2-3 with a 5.10 ERA and 20 strikeouts in his career against the Dodgers.
The Los Angeles Dodgers look to stay hot after winning 11 of their last 14 games. The Dodgers have scored 21 runs in their last three games and four or more runs in eight of their last 11 games. The Los Angeles Dodgers have won 14 straight games when scoring four or more runs. Cody Bellinger leads the Dodgers with 74 hits and 52 RBI while Justin Turner and Max Muncy have combined for 106 hits and 57 RBI. Hyun-Jin Ryu gets the ball, and he is 7-1 with a 1.65 ERA and 62 strikeouts this season. Ryu is 3-1 with a 1.66 ERA and 39 strikeouts in his career against the Mets.
The Mets are 4-1 in their last 5 during game 4 of a series, 5-17 in their last 22 road games and 10-4 in Vargas' last 14 starts. The Dodgers are 38-14 in their last 52 home games, 9-3 in their last 12 Thursday games and 4-0 in Ryu's last 4 starts. The Mets are 3-7 in the last 10 meetings in Los Angeles, 5-16 in the last 21 meetings and the Dodgers are 5-1 in Ryu's last 6 starts vs. Mets. The over is 4-1 in Ryu's last 5 home starts. The over is 6-1-1 in Vargas' last 8 road starts.
Vargas has been pretty solid despite what his ERA says, as he's allowed two or less runs in five of his eight games, but his hiccups hav come on the road this year where he has a 6.75 ERA and a .296 allowed batting average. Ryu has been downright ridiculous this season and currently has 0.71 ERA in the month of May (38 innings). At home in 37 innings, Ryu has a 1.22 ERA, .177 allowed batting average and is averaging a strikeout per inning. You throw in the way the Dodgers came back last night after being down five runs, and this has a Dodgers win written all over it. I'll take the RL to increase the value of the bet, as I'm never a fan of laying insane ML prices.
