The New York Yankees and the Los Angeles Dodgers will finish up their MLB series on Sunday.

In the Friday opener, the Yankees powered out a 10-2 win. On Saturday, the Dodgers scored two in the third and held on for a 2-1 victory.

For the Sunday finale, the Yankees will send out Domingo German in the start. Across his 121.1 innings and 16-3 record this year, German has a 4.15 ERA with 131 Ks and 28 BBs.

Over on the Dodgers’ side, they’re going with Clayton Kershaw in the start Sunday. Over 143.0 innings and a 13-2 mark so far, Kershaw has a 2.71 ERA with 147 Ks and 31 BBs.

The Yankees are 21-8 in their last 29 in game three of a series and 4-0 in German’s last four starts with four days’ rest. New York is 5-1 in German’s last six Sunday starts and 4-1 in his last five road starts.

Meanwhile, the Dodgers are 39-15 in the last 54 Sunday games and 52-22 in their last 74 in game three of a series. LA is 45-10 in Kershaw’s last 55 home starts and 91-29 in his last 120 starts.

German has quietly become the Yankees’ best starter, but he’s coming off five earned on eight hits in 5.1 innings in Oakland, breaking what was a four-game win streak.

Then there’s Kershaw, who is… well, Kershaw. He’s riding eight straight quality starts and five straight wins. This should be a fun one and a pretty close game, but if the Yankees want to win they’re going to have to get to the bullpen by the sixth inning or so. I’m not so sure they can do that so I’m going LA here.
