MLB | San Francisco Giants (84-71) at Los Angeles Dodgers (89-67)

The Los Angeles Dodgers and the San Francisco Giants face off on Monday in LA in a showdown in the NL West.

The Los Angeles Dodgers have clinched a spot in the post season and they have a 4.5 game lead in the National League West with a week left in the regular season. The Dodgers are just five games over .500 at home and 6-4 in their last 10 games. As a team the Dodgers are hitting .265 Yasiel Puig hitting .301, Dee Gordon hitting .291, and Matt Kemp hitting .286. For game one of this series the Dodgers start Dan Haren who is 13-11 for the season with a 4.14 ERA and he is 2-1 with a 3.00 ERA in his last three starts.

The San Francisco Giants haven’t quit but they haven’t done a lot to help their position in the standings. The Giants have lost their last three games and are 4-6 in their last 10 games but they are 42-36 o the road this year. The Giants are hitting .255 Buster Posey hitting .309, Hunter Pence hitting .286, and Pablo Sandoval hitting .280. For game one in LA the Giants start Jake Peavy who is 13-11 with a 4.14 ERA 3-0 with a 0.93 ERA in his last three starts.

Los Angeles is 5-1 in their last six home games, 4-1 in game one of a series, and 2-5 in Haren’s last seven starts against the NL West. San Francisco is 2-5 in their last seven games, 9-26 as an underdog, and 4-0 in Peavy’s last four starts. San Francisco is 1-5 in their last six games against the Dodgers.

Look for the quick trigger if pitchers falter which should keep the score down so my free pick is the under.
