Gary A. Vasquez-USA TODAY Sports

The Washington Nationals and Los Angeles Dodgers meet Sunday in MLB action at Dodger Stadium.

The Washington Nationals look for a spark of consistency after splitting their last eight games. The Nationals have allowed 17 runs in their last three games and four or more runs in six of their last 10 games. The Washington Nationals have now lost 10 of their last 11 games when allowing more than two runs. Offensively, Trea Turner leads the Nats with 20 hits and four RBI while Howie Kendrick and Bryce Harper have combined for 37 hits and 26 RBI. Jeremy Hellickson gets the ball, and he is 0-0 with a 3.86 ERA and three strikeouts this season. Hellickson is 0-1 with a 6.88 ERA and 19 strikeouts in his career against the Dodgers.

The Los Angeles Dodgers look for another win here to get back to a .500 record. The Dodgers have scored 19 runs in their last three games and four or more runs in eight of their last 10 games. The Los Angeles Dodgers have won six of their last eight games when scoring more than two runs. Cody Bellinger leads the Dodgers with 22 hits and seven RBI while Yasmani Grandal and Chris Taylor have combined for 40 hits and 22 RBI. Alex Wood gets the ball, and he is 0-2 with a 3.91 ERA and 22 strikeouts this season. Wood is 4-3 with a 2.51 ERA and 69 strikeouts in his career against the Nationals.

The Nationals are 8-3 in their last 11 road games and 1-4 in their last 5 during game 3 of a series. The Dodgers are 6-1 in their last 7 Sunday games, 7-2 in their last 9 during game 3 of a series and 20-8 in Woods last 28 starts. The Nationals are 11-27 in the last 38 meetings in Los Angeles and the under is 5-2-1 in the last 8 meetings.

Hellickson has pitched just 4.2 innings this season and wasn't that imrpessive in that performance, allowing seven hits and two earned runs against the Mets. In 51 career at bats against current Dodgers, Hellickson is allowing a .353 batting average with four homers. Wood has allowed three or less earned runs in three of his four starts and is coming off a performance in which he pitched 5.1 scorless innings and allowed just two hits. Wood has also been a good luck charm for the Dodgers, which includes wins in 10 of his last 14 home starts. Not to mention the Dodgers offense has found its groove, scoring four or more runs in eight of their last 10 games. I'm going to back the Dodgers yet again.
