|Date & Time||Tuesday June 26, 2018, 7:10 PM (EDT)|
The Line: Miami Marlins +145 / Arizona Diamondbacks -155 --- Over/Under: 8.5
The Arizona Diamondbacks and the Miami Marlins will be meeting up at Marlins Park on Tuesday in MLB activity.
In the Monday opener, the Marlins scored three runs in the fourth and four in the eighth, then hung on for a 9-5 win.
For Tuesday’s game, the Diamondbacks will be going with RHP Zach Godley. In his 83.1 innings and 8-5 record this year, Godley has a 4.64 ERA with 83 Ks and 41 BBs.
Tops in hitting for the Diamondbacks is David Peralta, who came into this set with 77 hits, 36 runs, 15 homers and 43 RBI. On Monday, Peralta came up empty in a pinch-hit role.
Over on the Marlins’ side, for the Tuesday game they’re rolling out Elieser Hernandez. Over his 31.2 innings and 0-4 record this year, Hernandez has a 5.12 ERA and 14 Ks.
Coming out of the weekend, Miami’s Brian Anderson led the team with 88 hits, 43 runs and 36 RBI. On Monday, Anderson had two hits and two RBI.
The Diamondbacks are 7-1 in their last eight in game two of a series and 8-2 in their last 10 Tuesday games. Arizona is also 5-1 in Godley’s last six Tuesday starts and 4-1 in his last five starts.
Meanwhile, the Marlins are 7-3 in their last 10 Tuesday games and 20-41 in their last 61 versus a team with a winning record. Miami is 2-5 in their last seven home games versus a team with a winning record and 1-5 in their last six home games versus a team with a winning road record.
Godley had a bad stretch there at the end of last month, giving up 15 combined earned runs in a span of three starts. Since then, Godley has calmed down statistically, surrendering two earned in each of his last three appearances, with two of those being quality starts. I like Godley to keep it going here so I’m taking Arizona for the win.
