Miami Marlins +120 / Arizona Diamondbacks -130 O/U: 8
The Arizona Diamondbacks and the Miami Marlins will continue their MLB series on Saturday.
In the Friday opener of this set, the Marlins took a walk-off victory 3-2.
For Saturday’s game, the Diamondbacks will send out Alex Young for the start. Across 22.2 innings and a 3-0 record this year, Young has a 2.38 ERA with 18 Ks and six walks.
The Diamondbacks put up six hits in the Friday game. The only player on the team with multiple knocks was Adam Jones, who also plated a run.
Over on the Marlins’ side, they’re sending out Jordan Yamamoto as the starter Saturday. In 38.0 innings and a 4-1 mark so far, Yamamoto has a 2.61 ERA with 38 Ks and 19 BBs.
Miami managed seven hits in the Friday victory. Miguel Rojas logged a 2-for-4 night with a run scored.
The Diamondbacks are 3-9 in their last 12 in game two of a series and 5-2 in their last seven versus a starter with a WHIP less than 1.15. The over is 8-3-1 in the Diamondbacks’ last 12 in game two of a series as well, and 6-1-1 in their last eight versus a starter with a WHIP less than 1.15.
Meanwhile, the Marlins are 5-2 in Yamamoto’s last seven starts and 5-2 in his last seven on grass. The under is 4-1-1 in Miami’s last six in game two of a series and 7-3-1 in their last 11 Saturday games.
Young had some pretty good returns over his first four games this year, with three wins and one earned in 18.2 innings. He did falter a bit versus the Brewers his last time up though (four earned in 4.0 innings).
As for Yamamoto, he had a nice run going as well until his most recent start in LA with five earned in 4.0 innings.
This should be a fun pitching battle and it will be interesting to see what each guy can do. I think there’s enough here to take the Marlins to eke one out.
