Miami Marlins +140 / Atlanta Braves -160
The Atlanta Braves and the Miami Marlins meet in game two of their three game NL East division set from Marlins Park in MLB action on Saturday.
The Atlanta Braves will look to keep the ball rolling after picking up a 7-1 win in game one on Friday. Freddie Freeman and Ronald Acuna Jr. each had a home run and three RBIs with Freeman going 2 for 3 with a double as well. Ozzie Albies went 3 for 4 with an RBI to cap off Atlanta’s scoring as a team in the win while Josh Donaldson added a double. Dansby Swanson and Brian McCann each had two hits while Nick Marsalis chipped in a base info to finish off the Braves’ offense as a team in the win. Mike Soroka got the win to improve his record to 7-1 on the year after giving up one run on three hits while striking out six over eight innings of work. Julio Teheran will start game two and is 3-4 with a 3.28 ERA and 69 strikeouts this season. In his career, Teheran is 7-6 with a 4.07 ERA and 104 strikeouts against Miami.
The Miami Marlins will look to bounce back after starting the series on a low note with the loss on Friday. Starlin Castro went 2 for 4 with a double and the team’s lone RBI while Brian Anderson had a double of his own. JT Riddle and Miguel Rojas each had base hits as well as the Fish had just five hits as a team in the losing effort. Jose Urena took the loss, falling to 4-7 on the year after allowing six runs on 11 hits over just three innings of work. Trevor Richards will start game two and is 3-5 with a 3.53 ERA and 63 strikeouts this season. In his career, Richards is 0-0 with a 5.19 ERA and 6 strikeouts against Atlanta.
Atlanta is 10-4 in their last 14 road games and 5-1 in Teheran’s last 6 starts while the over is 7-2-1 in their last 10 games overall. Miami is 4-0 in Richards’ last 4 starts and 20-47 in their last 67 division games while the over is 5-1-1 in Richards’ last 7 home starts. Atlanta is 20-6 in the last 26 meetings between these two teams and 51-25 in the last 76 meetings between these two teams in Miami.
The plus money with Miami is tempting as Richards has stepped up his play lately. However, Atlanta has also had success with Teheran on the mound lately, have had a huge upper hand on Miami in this matchup and are simply the better team here. I’ll lay the juice with Atlanta in this spot.
