The Line: Miami Marlins +132 / Milwaukee Brewers -142 --- Over/Under: 8
Down at Marlins Park on Tuesday, the Milwaukee Brewers and the Miami Marlins will be picking up their MLB series once again.
In the series opener on Monday, Miami squeezed by on a 4-3 victory in 10 innings.
For the Tuesday game, the Brewers will be sending out RHP Jhoulys Chacin. Across his 104.0 innings and 7-3 mark this year, Chacin has a 3.63 ERA with 83 Ks and 44 BBs.
Christian Yelich is the Brewers’ top hitter this year with 80 hits, 55 runs, 11 homers and 36 RBI entering this set. On Monday, Yelich logged two hits and a run.
Over on the Marlins’ side, they’re going with Pablo Lopez on Tuesday. Over 11.0 innings and a 1-0 record this season, Lopez has a 5.73 ERA with eight Ks and three walks.
Leading the way in hitting for the Marlins this year is Starlin Castro with 107 hits, 55 runs and 33 RBI. In the Monday game, Castro hit a solo homer.
The Brewers are 4-0 in their last four Tuesday games and 21-8 in their last 29 in game two of a series. Milwaukee is also 11-4 in Chacin’s last 15 starts and 9-2 in his last 11 starts with four days’ rest.
Meanwhile, the over is 4-1-1 in the Marlins’ last six Tuesday games and they’re 5-0 in their last five home games versus a right-handed starter. Miami is also 6-2 in their last eight games versus a right-handed starter and 5-11 in their last 16 versus the NL Central.
Chacin had a rough outing versus the Cards last month, but since then has put up just three earned on seven hits over two starts in 12.0 innings. As for Lopez, he has one good outing and one bad outing on his resume, and could be competitive here. In any case, I have to go with the Brewers in game two.
