Miami Marlins +130 / Philadelphia Phillies -140 O/U: 8.5
The Philadelphia Phillies and the Miami Marlins will be matching up on the MLB diamond on Saturday.
In the Friday opener of this set, the Marlins scored three runs in the first three innings and rode to a 6-2 win.
For the Saturday game, the Phillies will be bringing out Zach Eflin for the start. Across his 91.0 innings and 7-7 record this year, Eflin has a 3.26 ERA with 77 Ks and 23 BBs.
Philly could only find four hits in the Friday loss. No player on the team had more than one hit, but interestingly enough Vince Velasquez hit a two-run homer for the run total on the night.
Over on the Marlins’ side, they’re going with Jordan Yamamoto in the start Saturday. Over 19.0 innings and a 3-0 record this year, Yamamoto has an 0.95 ERA with 19 Ks and eight walks.
Miami logged eight hits in the victory on Friday. Leading the way was Garrett Cooper with three hits, two RBI and a run.
The Phillies are 5-2 in their last seven in game two of a series and 5-2 in their last seven Saturday games. Philadelphia is 8-20 in Eflin’s last 28 road starts and 2-5 in his last seven starts.
Meanwhile, the under is 6-1 in Miami’s last seven Saturday games and 9-4-1 in their last 14 in game two of a series. Miami is 0-5 in their last five home games as well.
Eflin was cruising along pretty well this month, with three straight quality starts. He ran into some trouble his last time up against the Mets though, with six earned on 11 hits in 5.0 innings (but still got a win).
As for Yamamoto, his sample size is tiny but the results are great; three straight wins and just two earned with 19 strikeouts.
I’m probably not touching this one, but I like Yamamoto enough to lean toward the Marlins.
